AK 10 round mags
I purchased these 10 round AK mags at the recent Malvern Militaria fair because one doesn't often see them for sale in the UK
and these seemed reasonably priced. I have seen various views expressed about these 10 round AK mags over the years which may or may not be correct, however, I wondered what knowledge or views people here have about them and, in particular, these 2 examples.

I think you'll find they're for the reduced cartridge areas...like some of the US states that have capacity reductions in place.

Opinion. Easier to use in private hands than the longer ones. Especially if used for hunting. Looks much less "threatening".

We originally had some ten rounders come into Canada
with the others, matter of choice. Those were blocked to five though. I personally have several standard length M14 mags but use a cut down five for range. It sits on sandbags better. I know people use strange things for hunting, here it's Chinese M14s and the odd M1 rifle... Other counties maybe AK.
Now for those that don't understand what I said about some states in the USA
having different capacities...here...some examples. That's why these are around, not military preference.
California18 All Firearms 10 rounds
Colorado20 All Firearms 15 rounds
Connecticut21 All Firearms 10 rounds
D.C.22 All Firearms 10 rounds
Hawaii23 Handguns Only 10 rounds
Maryland24 All Firearms 10 rounds
Massachusetts25 All Firearms 10 rounds
New Jersey26 All Firearms 10 rounds (Certain firearms with magazines capable of holding 11-15 rounds may be registered until July 13, 2019)
New York27 All Firearms 10 rounds
Vermont28 All Firearms 10 rounds for Long Guns; 15 rounds for handguns

20 round AK magazine
I have not seen the ten round Ak magazine but some years ago found two different 20 rd AK magazines. Any help to identify them would be appreciated.

I have several short black vinyl pouches that are said to be Hungarian
for holding 20 round mags.

Probably fit the SKS-D with removable mags, if those ever appeared in the UK
?

If the rear lug on a 20 rounder is wider than standard AK, AND there is no "relief cut" on the right side reinforcing plate AND there is a notch at the rear of the mag and a "tag" at the rear of the follower that rides in the wider rear "folded" joint, it is for the Chinese Type 63.
For decades, "Small Arms of the World" mis-identified the 63 as the Type 68 and declared it used a FIFTEEN round mag. Not quite right on either count.

Pennsylvania does not yet allow semi-autos for deer hunting but if and when they do, they will be limited to 10 round magazines. I wound up with a few AR 10 rounders because of this. My daughter works at a hotel and for some reason a guest left four of them still in the packaging. They went into the lost and found box and after not being claimed for 60 days she was able to claim them and gave them to me. We do not have magazine restrictions for anything other than hunting. Shotguns have to be plugged to 3 rounds during small game season but can have full capacity for deer and slugs.
