No1 MkIII magazine question
I have picked up a Linley & Co magazine to go with a rifle I am restoring. The magazines finish is pretty much gone and I was thinking of bluing it. I am not sure of the collectibility of the magazines so thought I would get some input on if i should.

Linley co was a contractor who made magazines for the peddle scheme rifles. They would later go on to make the 20 round trench magazines for the Smles. Before the war and during it they made "American style" lamps, which the would continue producing after the war before being bought out in the 1920s I believe. They have always been an interesting contractor in my mind, mostly for the trench magazines, but I don't believe there is any premium placed on them over any other maker. Hope this is helpful, and there is a chance I got some of the details wrong, working from memory here.

If it is the Linley 20 round magazine, snatch his hand off at whatever price he asks.

Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...
