Winchester 75 WWII Training Rifle Contracts

    Hi, first post here.

I am working on the Winchester Model 75 Training Rifle chapter in the upcoming Model 75 book and I am having difficulty in finding the Model 75 training rifle contract dates and numbers for the years of 1940 and 1941. I have the contracts for 1942-1945 but the bulk of the USGI Model 75 sales occurred in 1941.

Batha states in his book that the initial contract for 1,500 rifles was made with Winchester on 1/16/41 but I don’t know where he got that information and he does not mention the dates and quantities of the subsequent orders. I have reached out to him a few weeks ago but as the current town Mayor I am sure he has been too busy to respond.

Does anyone have a reference source for those first contracts?

    Thanks for any/all help!

    Best Regards,
