    What Do I Have?

Hello everyone. I've come to this forum to hopefully gain some information about a helmet I picked up a few days ago at the local antiques barn. I'm an owner of a Willys CJ2A that I'm converting into an MB, so I've been on the lookout for accessories to go the extra mile. Here's what I thought might be a WWII helmet:

One part of the lining is pretty weak.

    Posing with the new pieces

I've been digging online at various sites and can't seem to figure it out, nor can anyone on the CJ forum. What is it? Is it original? What's the value? I'm actually interested in the Type I M1icon helmet style for riding around in my Jeep, but I couldn't pass this up. If anyone has any information I would be very grateful.

Looks like an old Civil Defense helmet.

I'd say it's a Civil Defense helmet also. I picked one up for $20 at a yard sale a few years ago. Not in as nice condition. If you look real close along the bottom side around the rim, you should find the manufacturer. Sometimes hidden by heavy paint.
