Installing a repro T scope mount on non-sniper rifle
I have been kicking the idea around for a year or so of mounting a repro T mount (SARCO or Numrich) on an standard No4 Mk1. After looking at all the pictures and reading the posts, I have concerns. How difficult would it be and what would the procedure be to orient the mounts elevation wise with the barrel so that the bore line and scope sight line converge at a reasonable distance? I know that the rear securing screw on the mount screws into the receiver. What is the thread type size for that and are taps easy to find? What about the pad mounting screws? Does anyone offer after market screws? And finally would I be just wasting my time?
Thanks

You just have to read any of Peter Laidlers posts on this site regarding alignment of scope in mounts on T's and the methods of soldering and alignment. Iam sure somebody could do it with a hell of a lot of know how and even more patience. Reworking - shim / grind align ... its all to much to get a mockup going in my book.
But each to their own. get Peters book on the No 4T it has some useful infor if you wnat to go down this path and look at the following
