m 3 knife fakes
I know that one of the signs of an authentic m 3 are the two pins at the top of the grip, maybe in the pommel? In the past couple years I have examined about a hundred apparent m3"s many of which which had no pins in the pommel. They appeared to have all the characteristics, stamping, and and aging of the knives with pins. The knives were by various makers, imperial, Utica, pal and camillius. The knives without pins seemed to be about 40 percent of the knives I examined. Is it possible that the number of fakes out there is enormous or were some knives made without pins during or just after the war? Thanks
