Denver M2 Ball ammunition
Hello
I have a wooden crate containing1500 rounds of Denver .30 caliber M2 Ball. Inside the crate is a metal container that has a handle that would be pulled to tear it open. Lot number is 14945. The crate has a red stripe and the lid is held on by 6 brass wing nuts. Do you know where I might look for information regarding year manufacture and value?
Thanks
Greg

I found a place online that sells similar products, they have a contact button at the bottom, perhaps you could ask them. Meanwhile, I'll keep looking see if I can find anything else. Here is the link: 30-06 M2 Ball WWII 220rd M10 Spam Can Denver Ordnance

You can also ask these guy's, they got a good ammo room going on, and seem to know about the dates without opening the spam cans. Of couse people here at milsurp can probably do the same thing, I just happened to have already been looking here between post's and noticed this page: Ammunition - CMP Forums

I have also read that the Denver Plant closed down after WWII and didn't make any Non-Corrosive ammo, I don't know how to confirm that, except to ask someone. But people still shoot it, they just have to clean down the rifle really well when they are finished. Collectors Love it too, just to have some around and share with thier friends and stuff.

All the Denver stuff is corrosive so be aware of that if you fire it.

Hillbilly thanks for the info. I contacted them a they were a big help. From what I was told this stuff sells for about 75 cents per round and was only manufactured during WWII. Yes all is corrosive.
