    MG42 sling rings

I was told some Germanicon armorers (armourers) put two sling rings under the MG42. I've looked all over, but can't find a picture. Does anyone know why they used two rings or have a picture?

    Thanks

Most 42's I have ever seen have one ring or none at all, just the hole in the jacket where the ring should have been.
Also, there is not enough meat to drill two holes in the jacket on the flat where the one hole is located for two holes without them eventually breaking through. Why would you need a second ring anyhow?? You'd have two sling snap rings jammed up to each other

I don't know why they used two rings. That's what I am trying to find out.

Did they not have a sling setup like biathalon rifles? The slings were set up to be used as a set of handles if pulled upwards, or they could go over your shoulders like pack straps? The MG could be worn on the back so ski troops could use them or infantry could carry easier...I don't have pics though. That would explain two loops. Two snaps at the front...?

The double sling is the standard Germanicon sling.
By looking at the picture with the two rings and the finish I smell a YUGO touch. If the gun is a SARAC M53 ...Bingo !!!! I'd check and see if any of the "dirty birds" are defaced....as the double ring is probably a post war add on.
