Colt 45 barrel in my Ithaca Question???

HI Guys I have a Colt 45 auto stamp on top of barrel by ejection port in my Ithaca 45.
I read somewhere colt supplied Ithaca w/barrels. How can I trace if it's original or not?
    Thanks very much!

If the stamp is on the top of the barrel, the barrel is post WWII.

Plus, of course, all WW2 barrels were blued.

My guess is that your barrel is nickel plated, which means that it is a Colt commercial barrel. DOD bought a bunch of these in the early '60s after they ran out of WW2 barrels; my DCM .45 came with one of these.

I do believe this was a DCM pistol, not sure though. The barrel is parked olive green. Nice park job, shiney and unused. Not the dull gritty repark you usually see. That's why I thought it was original to the gun, as it all looks unused.
No rebuild stamps etc on her.

For most Ithaca production, it would have been shipped with a High Standard 'HS' or a Flannery Bolt 'F' barrel. Very early initial production could have had a Colt Type 5 barrel, or a Springfield Type 14 barrel.

If you need an original barrel for your Ithaca, I may have one.
