    Inglis No2 MK.1* Question

Pictured here is the hammer on my Inglis No2 MK.1*. It has the number 2 stamped on it, is it correct for an Inglis hammer ? It is an 8T series serial number. Thank you

Yes, it is correct. Inglis made a small change to the original, reverse-engineered hammer for functional reasons during the early days of production. I believe it involved the sear notch, but I may be wrong. The '2' marked hammers are the newer configuration hammers.

The late Clive law's book, The Inglis Diamond, has the details.
