Were K98k sniper rifles shipped from the factory in cases?

One day I was out on patrol with my platoon and we found a case of Germanicon Mauser rifles near an old railroad siding. They were beautifuly sharpshooting rifles with bolt action.
So were scoped K98ks shipped from the factory to the schools in cases?

That quote doesn't say that the rifles were sniper rifles, just that they shot well?

No they weren't.....not in an individual case with scope and bits like the No.4T was.

Not sure about ZF41 marksman K98kicon's though.....they may have been shipped in standard K98k cases that accommodated 10 rifles, as the there might just have been room for the small ZF41 to be mounted and fit in the head to tail arrangement in the case. Never seen a photo though to prove they would fit. Chances are that even the ZF41 rifles were not sent in cases either.
Just the thing for putting round holes in square heads.

GeeRam - any documentation to support your assertion? I am aware of a pair of G43 w/scopes that were together in a case/crate.

BTW, I am unaware of the Germans using individual transit case like the Britishicon Commonwealth nations.

I think its more a case of there is no documentation to say the sniper K98kicon were issued in crates with scopes. The only photos or documentation for crates for shipping of K98k's is the standard 10 rifle crate, which doesn't support fitting of 10 x riles with scopes fitted, and with the 10 scope carriers for 10 rifles in the case as well? No other evidence exists there was any other type of crate for a K98k. That doesn't mean there wasn't as they much have got from the various factories somehow. Most likely 10 converted rifles were put in a normal crate with their scopes in their cases put in a separate box of some kind and dispatched to where ever together as two separate items?
Maybe only 5 converted rifles were put in a 10 case crate and the scopes in their cases put in the bottom of it..?
Nothing exists in documentation so far discovered to say how each factory did it.

The G43 was factory fitted with the scope mounts anyway, so a case would likely have been designed for such. That wasn't the case with the K98k, especially with so many variations in scopes and scope mounts.

For want of a hyphen the meaning was lost...

“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”

Much changes, much remains the same.
