    TYPE 30 Arisaka

Hey guys ive just recently purchased ( i say that but it feels more like theft on my part) an Arisakaicon type 30 rfle and had some questions. First it doesnt have matching numbers but it still has mum intact and second it has been sporterized. I had the bore looked at by a smith and he says its good to shoot. The barrel is in great shape with almost no pitting but whats left of the stock after cutting it up is in decent condition. My question is will it affect the value if i redo the stock only and by what degree as i love this gun and would like to keep it and hand down. Thanks for the time and if pics are needed i can work on it

    Sir,
I would love to see some pictures posted of it!! As to the stock, it depends "how bad" things are... and if it is truly bubba'd.

Typical auction results here in south central PA:

    Sporterized Arisakaicon: $65
Clean Arisaka with mum intact and original stock: $400

Stocks are not serial numbered so as long as it is the correct type for the rifle series shouldn't make a great deal of difference. If the rifle has been re-blued, kind of shoots the restoration. Also depends how much you have to put into the missing/damaged parts.

Vasilia, welcome to milsups.com. Wonderful seeing a fellow Ory-gunner on the site. Our membership is full of some really knowledgeable folks more than willing to share that knowledge. Enjoy!
