    Ross rifle info.

Hi there..have owned LOTS of SMLEs in my time, but have recently got it in my head that I want a Ross. More specifically, one representative of what Canadianicon soldiers would have been issued during the First World War. It's my understanding that the MkIII (1910) was prevalent, but was the 1905 model used at all? ( I know where one is for sale )
I have never owned a Ross, and I have always found them really interesting, especially with all the controversy surrounding them. Any and all info will be appreciated!

Yes they were used as training rifles but none made it into the trenches.

Once you shoot a Ross of any form you will be hooked.

Oh, be careful, be very very careful! I met my first Ross in the 1980's and was hooked. I have about 40 now, and used to have a larger collection. They are fascinating rifles, with a lot of Canadian history and heartache tied up in them. I love Ross rifles. Also love Lee Enfields, especially the long Toms.
