Question Mystery Magazine found on mesa

Was out hiking miles from anywhere and came across this magazine lying in the Sagebrush sea (NW WY).

Posting here because it looks Sovieticon to me.

A 30-40 Kragicon almost fits in but I have no 7.62x54 to try in it.

Wonder what it is and how it got there ? A leftover from RED DAWN ?

    thanks, Larry

Considering the amount of sand and crud on/in it, I can only guess it was dropped from a CIA black helo using Sovieticon Block weapons OR maybe Holder lost it during Fast & Furious.

    Any value to it ?

Hum, CIA, Fast & Furious? Somehow I can foretell some political interjection on this. Let's please don't fellas. Besides, it was probably dropped from....ah, never mind

    Look familiar?

Value would depend on condition. Anywhere from $20 to $40.
