    Commercial M1 Carbine?

    Hi

I just purchased an M1icon at a gun show, the serial number is H888-R202XXX. Is this a commercial receiver? If so, who built it? It's also marked as Houston TX. It was less expensive than CMPicon, and it's a decent shooter so far. I wasn't looking for a collector anyway.

Is there a website that lists serial number ranges for Carbines?

    Thanks

Not USGI, so it has to be commercial. But, there have been, maybe, 10 commercial manufacturers; it should have a name on it somewhere.

There is no SN list for commercial carbines.

This site is a very good source for commercial carbine information.

    Hi

That's it. Second type of serial number, no depression around it. The IAI is covered up by the replacement sight.
