MJ, don't take this personally, but that's crap.

Looks like a nice Swiss K31 7.5 x 55 straight pull rifle
'Tonight my men and I have been through hell and back again, but the look on your faces when we let you out of the hall - we'd do it all again tomorrow.' Major Chris Keeble's words to Goose Green villagers on 29th May 1982 - 2 PARA
Looks like 96/11 Schmidt Rubin
1911....I think they are also referred to as G11's. I have one and that gun is super fun to shoot.
I really enjoy shooting there rifles and surprisingly the 96/11 handles very well even with the bayonet installed.
Thank you all for the comments. It's good to be back and alive.
Cheers

They are truly beautiful pieces of work. I have been lucky to handle and work on many types of military surpluses rifles and those Swiss guns are the most impressive from a mechanical and quality perspective. Even though they saw no action in actual conflicts, I am very happy to have them in my collection.
G96/11. Two quick ways to tell is by looking at the pistol grip as you can see its grafted on and by the cupped buttplate instead of a flat buttplate. A purpose built G11 would have that pistol grip being a solid part of the stock not grafted on and the buttplate is flat (which I find better for reducing the felt recoil). Serial number is another way to tell, but your not able to quickly glance at that usually.
Fine rifles, indeed. Glad I socked away some GP11 while the getting was good.
