I don't find much information on Japaneseicon training rifles. I guess there is not much interest in them. I have several. My latest has a maker's mark on top of the receiver. It is three overlapping circles with a square in the middle. It was manufactured by Nipon Special Steel. What caught my eye was the stock looks like a type 99 long rifle. The lower band and stock is squared off, not round like a type 38. The rest of its features resemble a type 38. It still has its dust cover and cleaning rod.
