Precourser to the Canadian EAL rifle survival rifle found

]This rifle showed up this weekend. Dimensioned the same as the later EAL rifles but fitted with a unique front sight assembly. The forestock is shortened and the lightening hole plugged with a piece of walnut and shaped to fit.

The buttstock had a funky masking taped note that did little other than hide the permanent magic marker price added some time in the past. Certainly not what I paid. There has to be a special place in the hot place for clerks who do things like this.
