Fitting a scope to a Number 4 - any tips please

I am investigating putting a scope onto my Number 4 for longer range target shooting at places like Sennybridge, where I need to pick up on military style targets rather than 'proper' target shooting a la Bisley against a nice white background.

I am not interested in making a No. 4 T clone, more along the lines of being able to have something I can fit to use on their range and then swap the iron sights back on to return the rifle to its original state for normal target shooting.

At the moment, I am leaning to a Fulton’s or Armalon no-smith mount, combined with a semi-vintage scope which wouldn’t look too out of place, such as a Pecar 4-10 x 45 with an accompanying set of rings.

However, as I don't have much experience of fitting or using scopes with Enfield Riflesicon as I prefer iron sights, I wonder if anyone might be able to give me some guidance or make some (polite!) suggestions?
