You might also want to look into finding a replacement front attachment pivot... from the picture above it looks like a bar has been welded to a flat spot ground on the top of the attachment point for the bren... such a piece of steel would mimic the attachment point for an MG-3/Mg-42. With that piece of metal on there you will not be able to mount a Bren.
