Civilian jobs on military bases?
I was told by a family friend that I should try to get a job on a military base, is that even possible?
I am under the impression that only military personal can do military jobs. can someone please shine a little light on the subject for me?
thanks,

There's plenty of non military jobs to be done on base. Most bases and "forts" have a web site -or several- that should have job listings. Plus, there's usually private businesses on large bases- theatres, dining, fuel,- the usual retail stuff.

When we were stationed in Guantanamo Bay in the late 60s, Cubans, Haitians and Jamaicans would come on the base to work as gardeners. I have no idea if they do that anymore.

Locals are employed on military bases all over, even in the current theaters of operations. They do all the jobs that there are no MOS or MOC for any more.

at McDonalds !!! Flip burgers if you please to do so.
I have no current info, but the NAS Pensacola had one there last time I visited.
I am sure the employees were not military.
FWIW,

P.S.- this was a tongue in cheek post....I'm sure you were wanting something more substantial for a job....not trying to slight a McDees employee...
