At the last meeting, there was not any certainty expressed that there would be a 2010 GCA convention. That question was asked and the answer was left up in the air whether there would be a 2010 convention.
Unless you know one of the board members, the best thing to do is keep an eye on the GCA website.

There will be no GCA convention this year. Contact one of the Board members for an explanation.

If you read the "Chairman's Column" in the Spring 2010 edition of the GCA Journal you will read that Jim Spawn, the "manager" of the GCA and publisher of the Journal, is seriously ill and unable to work. Planning a convention for a 15000 plus membership is no small thing and I believe it is Jim Spawn and his staff at Attache that would be doing the work involved with putting a convention together. Don't forget that our Board of Directors are spread all around the country and, for the most part, they hold full time jobs. It would be an impossible task for them, or to expect them, to do the work neccessary to put on a convention.
I know we all were looking forward to the convention, but for now, I think the best thing we can do is say some prayers for Jims recovery and look forward to a convention next year. I am sure that a full explaination will be forth-coming in the "Chairman's Column" of the Summer edition of the Journal.
