"I took it off my 1943 M-1 30cal Carbine. In 1944 all Carbines had the Bayonet Barrel Band installed."

    Maybe he really is confused.

He calls a type II band ($18.99) a 'late type'

You can't tell from the poor photo, but it would be funny if the T-2 band that's listed as a WWII Original Period Item turned out to be authentic!

Only wants $85.99 for an adjustable rear sight.

I wonder what they smoke up in Port Orchard, WA?

Before he told me the band was a repro, I asked for closer pics. He said his camera could only take pics from 3 ft away.

I was thinking about trying to talk to him about macro settings etc, but with the stuff he's smokin' I bet he couldn't get it to focus at any distance!

Wulf, did he say it was a cut down type II? Just curious. I've never seen a repro type II before.
Regardless, it's a decent price for a repro if somebody needed one, since he's covering postage.

    Hey wait! .....
Maybe this is the 1 in 1000 that Rocky123 has been looking for on eBay!
(Who knows. Unless this guy cut the band off himself, it still could be authentic!)

Dang, wife's calling me to go shopping with her. Better go now before I get in more trouble with her or from a mod or something.
(Sorry if I messed up your forum Bill)

    Harlan,
I bought a repro type II from Walter/ M1carbines dot net (I think) on GB. Ran under $20. Used it on my buddies grandsons small shotgun to rig up a sling for him. Worked great.......

    Repro Type III or ?

Look a little closer. You can clearly see the projecting metal in front of a Type III band, cut just behind the bayonet lug. There are two other dead giveaways that this is a reproduction, even evident in the horrible photo. Most of you will know what they are if you look closely. I wonder if this is not an Iver Johnson (?) or other commercial band. Didn't sombody manufacture one with a projecting metal 'hood' over the barrel just in front of the band? JMHO

I believe it was universal who made the band with the protruding lip.
