Good catch Charlie and well done. Agree, that marking looks very "young" to me. When you identify the thief, show him these pics. Both taken from the same stock and in my opinion this is what guys should learn about. Cheers mate. Mike.

It's easy for us to distinguish between the "fresh" and the old now.
For my kids & grandkids - when the fresh eventually becomes old,
who will be able to tell? What a shame.

Hey guys, this is the responce I got through my friend from "badgerland-ken".
I'm sorry "ken" I would have passed on that one to buy and try to sell. I'm thinking you know more then "Eddie in Neillsville".....Frank

P.S. ken, this is were real collecting and preserving starts.
    So lets ask away.

YEP, IT'S OBVIOUS IT IS NOT A ORIGINAL CARTOUCHE.
ANYONE WHO KNOWS WWII CARBINES, KNOW THERE NEVER WAS A ORIGINAL INLAND
CARTOUCHE EVER THAT NICE AND FULL.
THEY SURE ARE MAKING A BIG DEAL OUT OF A ITEM CURRENTLY AT $ 10.24
I PICKED THAT STOCK UP AT THE MFLD GUN ( FAIRGROUNDS ) SHOW ABOUT 3 YRS AGO,

    FROM EDDIE IN NEILLSBURG.
IT'S A LOW END STOCK. SOMEONE CAN DRESS UP THEIR CARBINE FOR LITTLE $.
I FIND IT FUNNY THAT I HAVE NOT RECIEVED ANY QUESTIONS FROM THE SO CALLED
    EXPERTS.
I HAVE FORGOT MORE ABOUT CARBINES THAN THEY WILL EVER KNOW.

    LATER, KLB SR.

This is to bad for someone. badgerland_ken's stock sold for $132.50.
Ken knew it was a fake stamp, claimed he bought it like that. So why not sand it out and then sell it.
Because he knew someone would go crazy about the fake stamp.
TR, hit the nail on the head. badgerland _ken used to be a used car dealer in Marshfield, Wisconsin.
Pretty unethical, lets get the word out if you can. Ask questions on his e-bay listings of stocks, and maybe people will start to wonder about his sales.....Frank

I know for a fact the bayonets he sells are refinished Frank.

I bought a bowie cut from him a few years ago and after I received it you could tell it was a new finish, so I emailed him and asked him if he did the refinish work himself to see what he'd say.

He's a friendly guy and told me he sends them out to someone else for 'refurbishment'
(It doesn't say that in the ads)

cafdfw, the guy he sends them to is a good guy and does excellent work. I've been in his shop, he was a police armorer for many years and is now retired. He's is also the "Mauser Miester" in these parts.
Ken should state in his sales that they have been refinished. I don't think that would stop people from buying and there would be no surprises.....Frank

    Frank,

Maybe not stop people from buying from him. But it could change the selling price. Money is the reason someone sells.

Does he use any other names besides "badgerland-ken" on ebay? Ebay seller "610cl" is also located in Marshfield, Wisconsin and has been selling alot of M1icon Carbine stocks and butt plates over the last couple of months. Is this a coincidence?

They're brothers, Ken and (610cl) Glenn. They bought alot of surplus back in the early 90's. Glenn has mostly stocks....Frank
