Hi all,
I've been a member at Gunnutz for a while, so I thought I would expand my horizons a little and seek more milsurp knowledge, particularly Lee-Enfield rifles. I have wanted a so-called "jungle carbine" for years, and now have one! What does the prefix "T" mean in the serial number?

Hi to all members. I'm new to this forum. I'm a 20-year retired AF Vet and live in
SW Virginia, a little bit of Haven. I like shooting and collecting old and military
firearms. I tinker a little, i.e., changing barrels, headspacing, etc. My most recent
acquisition is an old Martini-Henry .45 caliber....

Hello, and God Bless .
Hello, good to have a welcoming web site to pursue our God given rights as Americans.
I'm a 3 time activated SCNGAR Soldier. Iraq & Afghanistan. I have a 13B , 92Y, 42A MOS and my favorite is a B4 identifier( only a few of you may know what that is, and as you can see my 13B does not help my B4 , still need my 11 series to complete the package.) I do alot of research and love small arms and own a few. Thanks to all who served and all of you that supports all of us. SSG BG

Hello All,
I've been collecting rifles for the past 3 years now. I first started out with SKS's then moved on to other rifles. Right now I'm collecting WW2 vintage rifles. In my meager collection I have a Mosin Nagant that is a 1939 Izhevsk. It has been double dated 1950 MO. A 1935 Ishapore No 1 Mk III SMLE and a Turkish Mauser from 1903. Somewhere in it's life it was cut down to carbine lenght and bedded. A CETME Battle Rifle. Date unknown. Next is my 1960's Pre-ban SKS and finally is my Yugo SKS. It has been put into a folding stock and converted into a truck gun. The poor Yugo is my Bubba rifle that has been through a Ram Line, Tapco, and finally ATI folder stock. I'm thinking about taking off the scope and putting on a red dot.
I made a comment about having three open spaces left in my gun racks to my wife and she walked away mumbling something about being married to a redneck...

New Member - No 4T question
Hi All - I am a new member to this forum - but been shooting SMLE's for a few years.
I have a question that i would appreciate comments on:-
I am looking at a No 4 T at pres. It has its box (though not stencilled as a No15) aScout scope - A no 8 Scope box (green tin - but without the leather strap) A scope and of course the Rifle.
The rifle has all the correct markings as a BSA Shirley - Holland & Holland conversion.
However 2 small details make me hesitate (besides the price at over £4K).
1). The rifle is not marked on the receiver as a No4 Mk1 - but i have read somewhere that these markings were machined off to allow the scope mount fittings)
2). The scope number (behind the receiver on the rifle butt) has been XXX'd out and a new number punched just below it.https://www.milsurps.com/images/smilies/yikes.gif
What concerns me is that the rifle is a 1945 production and the "new" scope is a perfectly good No32 -- BUT it is a MK 1. (not a Mk 3 as expected at this date).
Does this happen ? does it make the rifle less attractive from the collection point -- i.e. despite the fact that the Mk 1 is NOT as good a scope as the Mk3.
Any info / comments would be appreciated !https://www.milsurps.com/images/smilies/bow.gif

Not so new but new
I've visited this forum over the years but never had much to say. Been collecting military firearms since 1974 and continuing onward.
