Well, He did come home, but he didn't get better, he stayed real sick. Me and mom were constantly working with his diabeties regimen, meds, blood pressure, etc. when we noticed he kept having chills, but no high fever, just 99.1 or 99.6 with reaccuring bad headaches, neck pain, then bad diahrea. I was very worried about him getting dehidrated, but he was so sick, i couldn't get him to drink or eat anything. He has also been too weak to move his leggs and or walk or stand. So it has been very hard on all of us. Then, Tuesday morning, his blood pressure dropped real low, scared my mom, cause it was only 90/50, where before we were seeing higher than normal blood pressure readings. So we called an Ambulance right away to come get him and take him back to the hospitol. He then had an upper GI, then an MRA of his brain, then a colonostomy. Now they are treating him for (C-DIFF) "Clostridium Difficile" which they likely helped him get in the first place, after giving him a whole assortment of antibiotics last week when he was there. I have heard it is very comon in older folks like him, in the hospitol, taking too many or the wrong kind of antibiotics. It kills all the good bacteria in you body, even the good bacteria that you need to stay healthy. Anyway, thats just what folks around here keep telling me about the c-diff.
They moved my dad today, into a long term care facility at the hospitol. They need to run a pick-port into his arm, to take blood, and start pumping real nourishment into his system. Its been a long road to recovery, mom stay's with him, and I am taking care of my nephews for them. That means I had to lay out from work now for a month, so its not been easy at all here, but I'm taking care the house, the kids, the laundry, the dishes, the dog, the yard, and on and on. That's what mom asked me to do, so that's what I'm doing. I still need your prayers, and thank you all for keeping them coming. Thank you all for the many replies as well. I don't get much of a chance to get on here, but when I see that the prayer request was answered, it sure lifts me up a lot. Thanks to all......... HILLBILLY-06.

We're up here in Michigan, but sure wish I was close enough to give you some help with the chores.
We will continue to have group prayers from our church passed down to 'Our Friends' in the south.
I figure that sounds better than asking for group prayers for Hillbilly-06. I'd imagine that would draw some looks from the congregation.
Hang in there.... I haven't met anyone from Bhama that couldn't handle more than his share. You need anything, please ask us. We don't have to meet to be friends. We are all part of the Mil Surps Family.
God Bless,
Charlie

I'm quite new to the forum and read of your troubles. You are awesome for stepping up to the plate when needed, I hope my kids will do the same if needed. My prayers are with you and your family. I recently had a very good friend who is diabetic that lost a leg due to the doctors missing the infection that started in his foot.
Godspeed to you all.

I thank you for your prayers and thoughts, you have all been wonderful with this special request that I asked for.
Dad is still in the Hospitol, but doing a little better now. He still has a bad day once in a while, but Mom say's continuing to "look better" and look more like himself lately. Physical therapy is a little slow yet, but mostly because he was in isolation due to the C-DIFF disorder. Mom also says it looks like that may have finally run it's course. So now, I hope the healing has really begun, but I must knock on wood when I say that, I don't want him to relapse again.
As far as the prayer list goes, just pray for "Dave and his Family" down here in Alabam'......... Thanks to all, and I really mean that............HILLBILLY-06 (Dave).

POP doing better, anxious to come home...
Dad's continuing to do better, Mom said they took him out of isolation, the c-diff is gone, it finally ran its course. Also, since not in isolation, he is doing so much better with PT, that he was out walking the entire unit this morning, still using walker for balance and I suppose still a little trouble with that vertigo, but he's improved a lot lately, and they are now awaiting the final doc's approval to send him back home.
It's been a long road to recovery this time around. I been out of work looking after these nephews for so long now. It will still be a while yet, until I can really leave the house to go back and work out of town again, but we are on our way to getting back in good shape. "knock on wood again" I am glad that he is finally getting better, and all but one doctor has come by today to sign him off for the return trip home. The last doc may not come in until late this afternoon or evening, but Mom and Dad can handle the wait at this point. Plus he may not be ready quite yet, based on the last doc's info. I do got my fingers crossed however, that all will be good, and they will let him come home. "Babby-sitting" isn't my first best choice, or my greatest skill to date, but I started cooking.... gee that was different, the kids did eat what I fixed, most of the time, LOL, but we got by just fine, and they did great just being kids.
That's all I have for now... I will keep you all posted when I get a chance, and let you know how things are going... Thanks again for all your prayers and thoughts......HILLBILLY-06 (Dave)
