Training Rifles
I don't find much information on Japanese training rifles. I guess there is not much interest in them. I have several. My latest has a maker's mark on top of the receiver. It is three overlapping circles with a square in the middle. It was manufactured by Nipon Special Steel. What caught my eye was the stock looks like a type 99 long rifle. The lower band and stock is squared off, not round like a type 38. The rest of its features resemble a type 38. It still has its dust cover and cleaning rod.

Berwyn,
Actually, I have some deep interest in the school/ training rifles. Indeed, you will find that they are a "subset" of collecting Japanese rifles.
There are 1 or 2 websites with any large information.....
Do you have pics of your rifle?
If you flip through here, I do have 1 of mine posted... it is missing the bolt.
Sounds like you have a complete example!

I would be interested in pic's of your rifle. I have a type 38 no series school rifle that is in what looks like a long type 99 stock ,except it is a one piece solid stock. So if you can post some pic's of it.
