Anyone have a source for .303 174 GR. BTHP bullet heads ?
Been looking everywhere in the states but none to be found and nobody wants to ship from ovewrseas at a reasonable price. Any help would be appreciated and no Spitzer or flat based ammo please just the HPBT thanks Tommy

I just got some Hornady a few months ago. Just checked my known sources and could only find 150gr. I don't know what happened. Maybe an e-mail to hornady could get you an idea of availability. Watch the diameter!!

Sierra do the HPBT MK's in 174gn the Hornady 150gn SPFB shot really well out of one of my 4's cannot remember which one very accurate up to 400M the FB offers better obturation and no blow by in front of the projie as can happen with BT's (long winded explanation not for this thread) when exiting the muzzle.

Just have to wait for the Sierras to start showing up again if your heart is set on the 174gr HPBT match bullet. Not aware of any alternates that fit that exact description. The 180gr Sierra hunting bullet does as well or better than the Matchking for me, so...

from what we have been told here in Australia there will be no production of 303 pills in the near future as all the factory's are flat out making 308 and 223 projectiles so good luck getting some. lucky for me I have about 1000 sierra 174's and about 2000 174 gr hornadys, I and sick of these shortages over here in ozzie land ,also in the USA, and this always happens so when I can do it I stock up and avoid these hassles

Thanks for the info folk's. I did find some in the UK,300 PPU FMJBT will set me back $200 shipped, just hoping I won't get hassled about having them shipped here thru customs and any added cost associated with the purchase. Have a match coming up and they work very well in my rifle in the SMK's these are as stated PPU hope they'll work as well as the SMK but doubt it with my load. Contacted Sierra and your right they are all about .224 and .308 until Sept/Oct,Guess I'll start saving the bottle caps now for a larger than normal purchase then for future matche's

I get excellent accuracy from the Sierra 180 gr hunting bullet too.
The Hornady 174 RN is even more accurate but is probably too ugly for most people to shoot.

I bought some Sierra Match King 174gr HPBT a couple of months ago from a supplier in Summerland BC. They came from a wholesaler in the USA and know that for a fact. There are three or four suppliers he deals with in the US so they are available, you just have to find them.
It only took him a couple of weeks to get them, wish I knew who he bought them from.
Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?
