Inland the type 3, 5 and 6 are basically the same. The type 5 has the oil hole on the left side for lubricating the magazine catch and the safety. The type 6 is the same as the type 5 but it also has all the cuts for the M2 parts.
Ahh so...thanks very much! I guess mine's a Type III.

Weren't the SA M2 housings made late WWII?
I can't remember for sure but I thought that was the case.

Sorry to bump up this old post, but I have a question about the Type VI Inland housing. I have a complete Inland group, all Inland parts filled with old grease. All parts show very minimal use, and hammer, sear, trigger, mag catch, and all small parts appear to be blued, including the springs. My trigger group shows all the features of the type 6, except the logo is horizontal. Not vertical or upside down. What do I have here? A minty converted Type III, or a weird Type VI with a horizontal logo?

FWIW my 12/44 6.6mil Inland has vertical logo and oil hole.
