When I needed a scabbard for a Lee-metford bayonet a few years ago I was able to convert a 1907 tear-drop scabbard which are in plentiful supply at the moment in the U.K.. Not a great solution but the best that I could come up with at the time and a fairly simple job to do. I believe that I am right in saying that the 1903 bayonet has a very similar blade profile to the Lee-metford bayonet???

One of the two I posted is a P1888 converted to a P1903 in India, you can see the original date on the blade of 9 '01 so was originally a P1888 Mk2, it's the bottom pic on my post page1

Oops, guess I should have bought one of the two I spotted recently then. At least the funds went towards ammo instead.

Will the 1903 bayonet fit on a SMLE No1 Mk3 with-out any modifications? Are the mounting points the same as the 1907 bayonet? I'm thinking that it will but have never had the opportunity to try.
