Irwin pedersen question
Can anyone say for sure or is there any documentation that IRWIN PEDERSEN carbines were originally made with U marked front sights on 1942 dated Underwood barrels? Also did they use handguards marked "PEDERSEN U" on original guns? Thanks

Not sure what type of Documentation your referring to other than CCNL's Data,. Underwood sent a few Hundred Barrels to them in early '42 with the month and year on it....IP used a Type 1 N marked Milled Front Sights by Niedner and Another one they used had a different marking and some had a Number on it (don't know what the number was for, but I have a good idea). I don't think Underwood sent many Front Sights at all to IP. That Handguard your referring to I think was used mainly by Underwood, I could be mistaken. I seen 2 IP's from a Collector friend here that has quite a bit of M1 Carbines. There are REALLY good People here that know a lot more and will Correct this.

On the front sight all I have ever seen is N or INP and that's what my books say, as far as the handguard it's for a Underwood.
? what type of band and what's the marking, I ask because if it's a type 1 and unmarked then I would guess it's a complete Underwood barrel with band and sight installed on a IP receiver.

What proof marks are on the barrel? Can you post images of all markings or send them to someone who can post them?
