I called the forms distribution center. They checked and said I am on the list to receive it, and should have it soon.

It finally got here. I call back again, about a week ago. This time I got a gentleman who actually found it in the proverbial pile, and said he moved it up to be mailed the next day.

I have it all filled out except one of the fields on the form next to your signature is "Title". I am guessing Lord of the 1911 or Baron von Pdawg is not what they are wanting there !

    Regards,

    Pat

I guess it was just too easy when they had the form available for download on their site. I gave mine up after six years. It just got to be too easy and too expensive; impulse buying is a bear lol.

I sent my renewal in about 2 months ago, just got it back with a note saying I left one line blank so they were unable to process it. In two days I expire.
The line I left blank was left blank because I answered "NO" when it asks if I sent a copy of the renewal application to my local police cheif and if so to list the name and info etc. Well I did'nt because the last time I did that he sent it back saying he does not need a copy of the renewal,he needs a copy of the license itself if its approved. They don't keep applications for licenses on file, they keep a copy of the license on file if one is issued. Apparently the ATF says its federal law that the application must be on file with the local PD. The local PD apparently is'nt even aware of this. Either way,I corrected the "oversight",sent the form back and a copy of it off to the local PD just so they can return it again and tell me to send the copy of the license itself.
I imagine it'll be another two months before it comes back again.

Well, I will see how long my takes to process. I have heard tale of pre-issue visits from an agent, so will see if I get it before summer.

    RE: Copy to the LEO.

Have had mine for about 10 years now and the first two times I dropped an application copy to the local LEO of my small town. He knew who I was so I believe he just tossed it in the can.

The last renewal I dropped it off and we had a new LEO. He came out and asked me what it was for. I explained it to him, he was very cordial, asked me if I had any great WWII rifles. I said I had a few M1icon Garands and some Enfields. That was that.

Most places they have too many BIG problems to worry about just one gun nut.
