A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Should be. Is it as manufactured or was it upgraded for WWII?

It appears correct and free of upgrades, even the combined PH barrel would be original. The finish on these "Black Armies" wore quickly, as was the case with yours and Colt didn't use it in the 1911A1's, which came out in 1924 at about serial number 700,000. If it were mine I wouldn't change a thing and just keep it clean and oiled.
