I have to say that in all my time a lot of it in the ancestral home of the No5, I NEVER saw a No5 skeletonised. And if an army apprentice or someone on a trade test course machined something to that standard.......................

Yeah i am beginning to think it was either a gun smith, or maybe in India. The carbine has been through India.

The thing that I wonder about is the opening up of the flash hider, doesn't do anything for the instructional value...only thing not painted too.

It seems only the wood work is painted. All the metal has been left as is off the cutter
