Two After market mags NOT made by Colt- Two later post war miltary mags- one sounds like it could be a WWII General Shaver mag.

The General Shaver magazines (G on top of toe) have a folded seam down the spine that is spot welded.

The 2 marked 19200- ASSY 5508694 MFR. 1M291 are Post War Military Mags made by Checkmate Industries (CMI) ~1970's to early 1980 before the switch to the M9. Good mags.

The 2 that are marked Colt 45 Auto are Not made by Colt, they are aftermarket and many a Newby has been deceived into believing that they were Colt mfg. mags. The one with the seam down the back sounds like a WWII General Shaver Mag used in Rem Rands.

It does not seem a seam, but rather a kind of discoloration. Is it the base pinned?

I have a couple of mags with the discolored back spine,I never bothered to really find out(could have taken to work and xrayed)but I really think they are a full welded butt joint down the back, that could account for the finish discoloration. As J.Peppers says, they are not spot welded Gen.Shaver.The cage #'d mags speak for them selves,as for the other 2(marked Colt)they ain't,I bought several like that some years ago at a gun show, think they came out of Mexico or some place like that, same unevenly spaced base plate spot welds, same exactly out of place cartridge count holes, body tubes were not formed just right, got them dirt cheap, needless to say I got what I paid for, although 8 out 10 worked fairly well as range mags,2 were garbage,3 of the other working ones didn't last long, only paid $15 for them, gave the whole bunch to my son,if you want good mags buy genuine US GI mags, even the used ones work good if not damaged.
