Austrian Model 1850 carbines
Can someone identify this converted percussion carbine with two stock bands as to which country used it? I know the US bought carbines converted to percussion and had loading rods added under the barrel. The ones I have seen had one band that was often lost as the rod addition eliminated the attaching screw. Could it be Confederate??
The top carbine is in original tube lock. The second from the top is a tube lock converted to percussion by the Austrians. The third is a carbine converted for the US. The bottom carbine is the one in question with the additional stock band. Thank you.
