Colt 1911 OEM Parts Resource? ?
Recently acquired a Colt "Model of 1911 U.S. Army", patent dated; ". . . AUG.19.1913" and would like to bring it back to life if possible.
Gun acquired from son of a long deceased previous military owner who had it modified over 60 years ago to shoot in military pistol matches.
My understanding from local "Collectors" is that is well past ever being collectable and will only be a shooter at best.
I would like to attempt to replace the non-period modified parts with the correct parts and I am seeking a possible source for original 1911 parts and maybe a collector capable of fitting/replacing the current target sights.

The slide was altered for the target sights, but the slide isn't original to the frame anyway. You could correct the gun, but it will probably cost more than the gun will be worth in the end.

I have a couple of bulls-eye conversions modified like yours & have left them that way as they are great shooting pistols.
I have also restored several mixmasters with correct part over the years.
Since the release of 1911's by the CMP the parts that used to be found on e-bay offered by some regular sellers have dried up & what is there is priced beyond reasonable.
Gun show 1911 parts in Oklahoma have also been scarce.
If you really desire to restore it Try posting a parts wanted ad on the CMP forum. The group there may have some spares they would sell that is where I found my 1915 Springfield parts.
Looks form your photo you primarily need the correct slide.
You have a good looking frame with inspections stamps intact.
Hammer, slide lock, safety lock look correct.
So you have just a few parts to chase down.
Like the previous reply the slide will be toughest & most expensive.
Good luck & good hunting.
Patience is a key, as parts will show up.
