Lyman 35
Is anyone familiar with the early Lyman 35 peep sight for Mausers? I recently acquired a nice rifle with one installed and it's missing the aperture. The windage adjustable aperture base is still intact but no internal parts are present. The sight base is otherwise in great shape.
I'm finding that the 35 is a fairly rare sight, is there a more common sight that I could use for parts, or are parts available with other sources?

This is a lot of parts to buy but you should be able to sell off what you don't need. I do see what you want in there.

I'm not seeing anything in there, just one aperture. I think it's supposed to be dual aperture and I'm missing both the large and small apertures. http://ps-2.kev009.com/ohland/Cast_Bullet/Lyman_35/Lyman_No35_Sight.html

I know this is of little help. It appears you are correct that your sight is rare in that my (reproduction) 1940 Stoeger's catalog lists the Lyman 35 sight with a poor quality picture and the 1945 Stoeger's does not list it. The only other Lyman sight with similar features is the #36 which is itself a rare sight.
