SA "Unissued" stocks EBAY
http://cgi.ebay.com/M1-carbine-stock...item19b724d3da
He is listing these Type V SA stocks a new unissued, but to me, they have oil staining on butt and wrist. Thoughts? I have a nice SA Birch that is used, but was cleaner and nicer looking than those he shows in the box.

He has another auction for a nicely striped birch stock, allegedly from the same box. That wopuld be pretty with a few coats of hot BLO/mineral spirits!

Looks like the real deal. Nice, but I still think pricey!

Interesting that SA put recoil plates on but not barrel band spring!
I think the dark areas may be from milling that product kind of a "burn" mark. Just guessing, but birch is so hard its easy to 'burn it.

Left over stocks from Overton supplying wood for commercial carbines?
Box was dated 1970.

Overton
Overtons, 1970... Good point! No GI rebuilds going on then. The SAs are probably for military rebuilds, though.
Nice catch, Painter!
