Site donations
I just received a message my site donation was ending. Any site has a cost to operate. I read a lot of different forums here and garner knowledge and kinder friendships. Easy peasy reason for me to renew. And there are additional benefits. This is posted in the donation section.
This group of members receive additional recognition and access capabilities to MILSURPS.COM, such as a coloured banner panel under their name, a unique colour display of their chosen user name, unlimited picture uploads and file storage on the system, ability to delete their own posts, a substantial increase in private message storage to 2,000 PM's, plus they are NOT exposed to reading Google Ad-sense, or other types of banner advertisements on the site. Finally, they have full access to the private Milsurps 'Team' Forum, a private forum for the Milsurps Advisory Panel and Contributing Members, where we make available private downloads of military history magazines, books and other gun related publications, as well as show high quality full length feature films, not available in the general public forums.
I use most of those additional items.
This forum does not solicit members to donate. But I feel it is a worthy and low cost expense for what I receive in return. $25 for a single year's donation is only 6.9¢ a day. If one does two years at $40 it's 5.5¢ a day. Hell, I can find that on the ground at the supermarket.
Just a thought that comes to my mind every year when my renewal time comes along.

Totally worth it!
All the neat downloads and such you get from contributing are cool.
But really, come on folks, I know I get 6.9 cents a day worth of information and help from this site!

I've had this feeling lately that my contributing member donation may be close to used up.
Prefer not to wait on a 'Reminder message'.
But can't remember where I find my current status, As in when my last contribution ends..
I'll keep looking, but would appreciate a hint if possible.
Thx
Charlie-Painter777
PS: I know I use the 2 year option, but can't recall when it ends.

Found It,
OK,
I was able to find when my paid membership would expire.
If anyone else is a current Contributing Member and wondering the same... (Expires ?)
At the top of any page:
I click on SETTINGS, once there I follow the left column down to MY ACCOUNT, with in My Account I find and click on DONATIONS, once there at the top of the page it shows my Contributing Membership Start and Expires Date.
Things to enjoy:
Don't forget the Ole Time Juke box music.
I also very much enjoy the Ole time movies. Can't tell you how many laughs I've had at the 'Special Effects' from back in the early days.
Welcome to all the Visitors
If interested in Mil surplus arms I highly recommend you join.
This is a free site, come on in !
Cheers,
Charlie-Painter777

It's all most like welfare. We who contribution, pay for those who don't. I have seen many posts 2 or 3 thousand from people who don't have contributing member under there name. You made not like some of my posts, but I will still support the Forum.

There's more than a few thousand members on this site Skip, I see donating as a good cause to keep it going that will aid the many.
But the real engine room of the site is Badger and the loyal band of moderators who keep the site threads consistent in their value to the multitude of users out there and they are largely unsung as it must be a freakin' nightmare to keep hackers at bay whilst keeping the site user friendly and as we know it was only recently the site was upgraded in speed & downloading so we could all benefit.
The mod's deserve a mention as well because their input on issues we have from our milsurps is from the school of hard knocks where they learnt their trade under tyrannical old school armourers whilst in service I guess Peter L has some good stories to tell, and not forgetting the gunsmiths either who learned about the Lee line the hard way from old instructions and fly by wire.
The integrity of this site is unmatched by anything out there on other gun board sites some members are only there to preen their ego's and hammer the timeritous ones (Made that word up) who have the audacity to ask a seemingly innocent question that infuriates the egotistical tyrants.
Lastly not forgetting those members that through other means of their journey have input as well to name but a few like BAR, Painter 777, Chuck in Denver, MIR for his posts, RCS cartridges, Patrick Chadwick, JMoore, 5thBatt, muffett2008 there are plenty more but this is just scratching the surface.

I love this forum and will always support it. My membership expires this month so I just renewed it on the 2-year plan. This forum has the best members of all the forums I visit and well worth the little the membership cost. The information is invaluable! besides the money I have saved in when buying milsurp (or by not making the wrong choice) from the help and advice I get here has saved me 10 times the amount a membership cost.
I also like the fact that you are not forced to have a membership to use the forum it was another big reason I will always support it.
Thank you all for all your help over the past year I have been here.
