Anybody know of a good spot that's publicly accessible near Vicksburg, Ms. USAicon, where fox squirrels might be hunted for 1/2 or a whole day? Have a road trip coming up to do some real estate sales prep for a friend and I am trying to convince him to take some time off to hunt.

I know this thread is about 3 months old but with that many tree rats, I would be having a lot of fried Squirrel, Biscuits & Gravy..............

Well done that. That way the kids don't think you're mean...or the wife...only Miss Jack knows the truth. I'm sure she won't tell.

A wire cage trap baited with peanut butter followed by a full immersion baptism in a 5 gallon bucket of water.

Or a shot of happy gas in a bin liner via the car exhaust if you're more sympathetically inclined.

“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”

    Edward Bernays, 1928

Much changes, much remains the same.

Squirrel season's over. And the last of the fresh meat is gone now. Brined for 6 days, baked with basil, fresh rosemary and a wee bit of raw honey (from out of the hive pulled from the living room ceiling) at 225 f for 5 hours. Good grief! Delicious and tender. Wanting more!

Did get a consolation rabbit during the next to last hunt. The squirrel's better tasting.

That's handy, keeping your bees in the living room ceiling...not too far to go for your tea sweetener.
