Possibly the outside finish on them? If not then try setting the ammo in the clips by setting the points against a 4X4 or other piece of wood material. The book wanted you to set the points against the stock...
Make sure the ammo is properly staggered in the clips. Change your clip latch spring. Leave the latch alone.
I actually just stored ammunitioin in the clips hoping maybe that will have an effect (but I don't understand setting them against a 4x4?). I do make sure the ammunition is properly stacked or it all doesn't fit well in the clip without being staggered. I was planning on replacing the spring first as it is the cheapest option to do first.

Clips have been stored loaded for decades, and I've loaded clips that were made decades ago for the first time...there's no difference.

The original idea was to set the cartridges against the wood of the rifle. Press the points of the bullets against the wood, it seats the cartridges together and makes sure they're all the way back. You can't do it against the rifle so something else, your workbench top maybe?
You haven't said if the clips have a thick parkerizing coat or not. The Greek black clips can be an issue. Parkerizing changes the outside thickness. Most of my clips are less than new.

Oh yes! I have done that, I do it everytime because they all look wonky if I don't have them seated in properly which annoys me a bit. And yes they have been parked.

Some have had problems until the use a bit of paper or scotchbrite to remove the greatest part of the parkerizing from the outside.

OK. What ammunition are you using HXP Lake City etc? If you are using older surplus ammo in the newer enblocs for example the Italian made the extractor cuts are different and will effect loading your enblocs. The picture illustrates what I'm talking about

Many of the Blue Sky Korean return M-1's had 8 punch marks in the stocks, where the shooter was seating the shells in the clip. Not good wood management, but I guess they got by.

I don't follow? If you're ask if my M1 is a blue sky import it isn't. I have a M1 Carby that is one however.

Very rarely is it ever the clip latch itself that is worn causing issues.
Its usually either foreign enblocs, bad clip latch spring or worn bullet guide
Since it is happening with all your enblocs we can rule those out
Pull the clip latch spring and slightly stretch it ,reinstall and fire rifle. If problems go away replace the spring.
If problem still exists you need to measure the lobe on the bullet guide with a micrometer
If lobe is under 0.175 replace it
If you need them I have USGI clip latch springs and bullet guides for sale
If you need any more help feel free to PM me

Correct. I had HXP 65 loaded into a JMO clip no bueno, difficult to load etc. Loaded HXP 78 into the same clip worked fine.
