Yeah if the other one I got for $750 is good, it wont be a bad deal, should be here today! There is quite a bit of interest on shooting these now, but I guess its a bit of pot luck on the day just whos interested.....I thought it would go for $1k, hence why I snapped my one at $750.....

    regards

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Well it arrived....very tidy IMHO...stripped it down seems little used though the slot in the main trigger screw's a bit worn so ideally I need a new one.

    Some interesting things,

    a) The lower forestock to wrist was packed with brass shim, its thin stuff I'll measure when im....uh...sober....tomorrow...
    b) The lower forestock seems std til we get to the re-inforce then that' s got some sort of packing right around the lower half, 3 to 9pm....shims i think plus something else.
    c) At the muzzle and other points there are 2 inches of some sort of bedding compound as pads, putty almost....so the barrel has multiple support points.
    d) on 4 points along the barrel its had weld spots added and then 3 were filed back...the one at the re-inforce is till there, fine tuning vibrations maybe.

I'll post some pics once I get the iphone off my wife....
