Now I'm confused. The first picture has a four person drill squad (two guards and two flag bearers), wearing flat brimmed hats and AF rank. The other picture has much better dressed AF personnel with forage hats. How many types of drill team does the USAF have?

And yes, they need to get their rifle drill in sync.

I remember when I was in the Air Force in 66-70 that our Base Rifle Team would compete with the Army and Marines and would hold our own with any of them. The best shot we had was a guy from New York City, yes that's right New York City. He had never fired a rifle until he join the Air Force and took to it like a duck to water. (I will have to admit that the Base Coach was former Marine.)

Has anyone heard of the USAF Spec Ops boys who are deployed alongside the Red Horse (engineering) Squadrons? I had the pleasure of "dining" with them (C-rats) in about 1972 in the back country at Eglin AFB. The idea behind them was/is a Spec Ops outfit that seizes and holds airfields for exploitation during offensive ops.

The photo was at my son's BMT graduation a couple of weeks ago. Fortunately, he is not in the picture. Even after all of your criticism of the Air Force, I'm still extremely proud of him getting through it.

You should be very proud of your son. I have one in the Navy and one who was in the Marines.

Funny how many bang the USAF, but when you ask about their MOS/AFSC they sat behind a desk....LOL

When the ground pounders are in trouble, they love to see that big green copter.

    B-52 Sac

I would have liked to have had some of you pundits inside a B-52 back in '68 across the big pond and then see who the bad dog was!
