Simon: Update--the letter prefix of my L42 appears to be an "M" so please try M37027. Thanks!

    Simon

What a great service I can see that it is keeping you busy.

    I have the following

    L42A1 T35468
    L39A1 A952
    Enforcer 228
    Envoy E139

I have included the Envoy serial number just in case your sources also cover this. Any information you have will be most greatfully accepted.

    Kindest regards Chris....

He was last on site back on March 6. I believe he's got other important things going on that minimize his spare time- give him a wee while...

    L42a1 1974

Last year I posted the following.

I have L42A1 S/N K34325. It has chordal rifling with action and barrel dated 1974. All written material I have come across indicates that only rifles from the 1980 batch have chordal rifling. I would be very keen for any L42 owners especially those with post 1971 dated actions to take the top wood off and advise the date on both the action and barrel. I am interested in finding out more about when the chordal barrels were manufactured and then fitted to actions.

    Many thanks
    Graeme

I note more posts from L42A1 owners since. Help please- can you please let me know if your rifle is dated after 1971 and if so please advise the date on the action and barrel 9you may have to take off the top wood to find it) the type of rifling ie Enfield or chordal and the number of grooves.

    Many thanks
