My solution to all this unrest and/or disatisfaction

Metaphors? Yes, of course ! But that is the difference in user friendliness that I personally feel. And thus that is why I miss our old friendly home so much.
Establish some kind of agreement with Gloria and the Major to set up a mechanism by which we could put our money where our mouth is. A place or fund that we could and should contribute money to to enable them to have the BEST site ever known to mankind.

I have a mechanic friend who can build or repair ANYTHING. One of his quotes is, "All it takes is money". I think that applies here. I'm not computer savvy enough to know HOW to do it. But I'll bet that we could get ANYTHING we wanted if we had PLENTY of money to design and build it. Heck, you can even send a man to the moon.

There are enough users of this site that if we each contributed $10 or $20 every month to Gloria to let her use it however she wants to, we could have our cake and get to eat it to. Heck, I don't care if she and Dick personally enrich themselves from such a plan. The alternative may be to be stuck in this present dreariness.

If there are some who prefer this or some other place, then they can stay here.

If you want to have the fonts and colors you specify in Internet Explorer to be used for all websites, regardless of the fonts that have been set by the website designer, follow these steps:

    Open Internet Explorer
Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
Click the General tab, and then click Accessibility.
    1. Select the Ignore colors specified on webpages, Ignore font styles specified on webpages, and Ignore font sizes specified on webpages check boxes, and then click OK twice.
    Cecil-- THANK YOU!!!!!!!!
FINALLY,everything is all the correct size, the same size, and easily readable! No more messing with font size to post,no more squinting at micro stamping while others have one inch letters. This should work for me. I opted to keep the same colors though. Thanks again. Now that I can read stuff without getting a headache I think I'll start looking around a bit more.

That was tried/offered in the past. IIRC they did not want it that way.

I figured there was a simple fix, just needed someone to spell it out.

Once you follow the above instructions go back to Tools, Internet Options. To the left of the Accessibility tab is the Colors tab. Click that and you can change the background color of the page to anything you want.
The downside is font colors won't work while using the Advanced key when posting a response.
