Hi, new member here from Florida, USAicon. I found the site while looking for info on the history of my Danishicon Bren/Sten mag pouches (marked HTK 1951 with Danish crown). I haven't found much info specifically about the Danish utility pouches but my understanding thusfar is that they are a MK III revision to the Web Equipment, Pattern 1937 design that made them a bit longer to accommodate Sten mags (which is why I got them - function, not collection per say). I'm curious as to the intent of adding a dual snap covered opening about 1/3 of the way down, which doesn't appear to have been on any of the UKicon or Canadianicon versions that I've seen pictures of so far. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Greetings to Everyone

I am new to this challenge and look forward to learning & contributing whatever I can. I recently acquired a Model of 1917(Eddystone). Two questions in my process so far:
In wiping down the stock with Murphy's oil soap to clean the stock, there appears to have been a number painted on the stock. It doesn't match the serial number (292###). I will use a black light to highlight the number as time permits. Has anyone seen something similiar?
Any opinions on using a heat lamp to leech some of the accumulated oil from the stock? Thanks for your suggestions.

    Hi all,
Just taking a look on the web for all the information I can find regarding Ross rifles.
I am a collector of Winchester rifles, but just bought an entire collection from an old family friend. I will keep all the Winchester stuff but will need some help to find my self in this new collection of over 30 various Ross rifles. I will read and read and read for now, but if someone would send me in a direction that would help me to look for the rare and sought after collectables, models, proof marks, extra, I can
Then take some pictures and show my prize.

New EAL Lee Enfield owner say 'Hello'

    Hello all
Just a note to say 'hi' and introduce myself.
I recently became the owner of an EAL Lee Enfield, sn EAL2042. I came across your site while looking for a manual for it and was amazed at all the useful data I found. I've downloaded some great pdfs and will make good use of them tomorrow when I strip and clean the rifle.

I plan to hunt bear, deer, possibly moose with it as well as lots of target shooting. The rifle is tapped for and has a Parker Hale scope mount - but no scope. Not sure if I want to go with a scope or stick with the Marble Arms iron sights. Guess I will make up my mind after I shoot a few dozen rounds off - it came with 50 rounds that I want to use up.
Anyway, looking forward to firing the rifle - hope to take it out next weekend.
Great site! I'll be coming back regularly.

    thanks

    Lyle

New member - me. Hi ! I'm John C. Delavan

[FONT="Arial"]Hi, I'm John C. Delavan, most commonly known as Big John. Yeah, yeah, I know, how original... hey, I didn't choose it, it chose me. FWIW, that wasn't my call sign in SF. I now run Reliable Firearms & Ammunition in Florence, AZ & hold a manufacturer's FFL:
9-86-021-07-4J-03122. I make custom M1911A1 combat pistols. Most of my guns go to SF guys & former Spec Ops guys. I also buy old Win. Mod of 1897 shotguns, clean them up, repair/refinish as necessary and convert them to M97 trench gun specs. <NOTE: I do not & will not attempt to pass these off as original M97's & all the firearms I work on have "Reliable Arms, Florence, AZ" (as inconspicuously as possible but strictly according to ATF regs.) I also build Mini 14's, AK's, AR's, and many other guns. I've been there, done that and really don't like wannabe's and Valor Thieves. I don't work fast and am honest to a fault and will be the worst nightmare to someone who isn't. I have an old website you can visit if you want to - Welcome to Big John Country My email address is bigjohn64@q.com & the Cell is 520-705-0021. I'll try to hang out and ghost here as much as I can and try to learn something. Look forward to hearing from you folks. Drive on!
