A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Hi folks. I'm new here and new to the Lee Enfield. I (my Dad)did buy one about forty five years ago, $15 mail order. First center fire I owned. I've been a shooter all my life and have, well lets say many fire arms. Lately my main interest has been cap and ball revolvers and old (pre-1920) S&W revolvers.
Being new to the Enfield I have a lot to learn, this forum looks like a great wealth of information. Hope everyone has a Happy and prosperous New Year.

    Steve

Hi! I just came across you guys yesterday while looking for some non-berdan ammo for my new SVT-40! I'm relatively new to the scene, I've only just started collecting (only had my licence since early '07) but I've been learning about guns all my life, they've always been a fascination of mine, much to my mothers consternation

I started my collection off, as I think a lot of us do, with a cheap, sporterized No.4 Mk1 Enfield and it's just snowballed from there, filled my first gun safe and now it's on to number two!

Shortly after I got my license I picked up a bunch of reloading gear and started up with that and I've been rolling my own ever since; haven't fired a factory round (excusing .22 and shotgun) in over a year!

Anyways, looks like a great community around here and an awesome resource for info, I'm looking forward to learning a lot!
