Found..., Two, unissued "C" stocks and handguards...

I had some great luck this morning. I found two, unissued "C" stocks and hand guards. They're on their way to me...! And the price was really great...

Now to find all of the stock hardware, and I will be all set to restore two, of my 1903's.

You lucky dog!! I just had to pay Numrich $180 for a repo "C" stock and an additional $30 for a NOS handguard for an 03A4-gery project. some people have all the luck LOL.

It pays to live a good, respectable life, and some of the things your heart desires, will just come to you.

Some day soon, I will have to try living that life. I want to see if it really works.

The stocks weren't what they were described to be.

These stocks were described to me, as original, unissued 1903 Springfield "C" stocks...!

These stocks were aftermarket reproductions, and not very good reproductions. It would have required hours of work fitting, inletting and sanding, to get these stocks to be anywhere like they were originally described to be.

After spending sometime on the phone with Numrich, and the Woman that supervises their sales people, I won't buy anything from them ever again

Welcome to the club.Know exactly how you feel. I bought one of these a couple years ago. Mine was original, the K could still be made out in the cutoff recess, BUT, in an attempt to make it look new and unissued it had been sanded down so much till the magazine box stuck out of the wood an eigth of an inch. Luckily for me it looked reasonably well on a 1903a3 and a neighbor took it off my hands at cost. Shortly after i picked up a rather nice Keystone off flea-pay for $150. Cleaned up real good. Like i said in another thread, i know where two pre-war Springfield's are but the owner likes them more than i do, $650 no metal included.

It is aggravating when they don't live up to their product desciptions...
