Eikckhorn Dagger
On ebay there is a dagger being sold as an"Original Eikckhorn Soligen German Dagger". The blade has the Squirrel and sword logo. Below the logo are Eickhorn Solingen. Above the logo the word "original" is stamped into the metal. Is this real or a reproduction? I thought the word "original" was odd.

They did use the word 'original' in their maker logo.
Compare the example with the stamped ricasso in this link at http://www.germandaggers.com/makerma...ickhorn180.jpg

Eickhorn used several different stamped logos, and in most the ORIGINAL was included, either above or below the squirrel. Daggers like the SA and SS used a slightly different etched logo that did not include it.

Ok. I guess most of the logos I had seen were on SA daggers. Thanks.

Looks original stamping. Eikehorn still produce knives. Why not contact them directly? http://www.eickhorn-soligen.de Kind regards, Lester

That is an early squirel and it looks good. Also appears to be on a Firemans bayonet.
